When the Shops Shut
Cscape Dance Company
Wootton Courtenay Village Hall
Friday 15 October 2010  at  7:30pm
When the shops are shut for good, when the shutters come down for the last time, when the final homes are bought up, what happens to communities then? Cscape uses a unique style of physical storytelling to tell the tales of villages and the people who live in them.
Evocative, charming and funny, When the Shops Shut brings the characters found in these communities to life in a vivid blend of dance, theatre, film, music and poetry. The show is in 3 parts; a sneaky and hilarious peek into a village hall where the ladies are learning to Salsa!; Last Post - exploring the issues of post office closures and how it affects villages; Enjoy Your Stay - a witty, tongue in cheek look at the 2nd homes debate.
Specially made for rural touring, this show has been delighting audiences throughout the UK.
"From start to finish Cscape are poetry for the eyes and should not be missed." Western Morning News
