Samay is Bhupinder Singh Chaggar on Tabla, Jesse Banister on Saxophone, Soumik Datta on Sarod, Giuliano Moderali on Guitar and Omar Puente on Bass. Together, they are a unique collective of musicians who bring their individual style, strength and passion to exploring new ways of understanding and making music. To create a powerful and distinctive sound that is, so far unknown to the western or eastern world. "This frighteningly talented five piece group fuse Indian and European musical styles to brilliant effect. Syncopated electric bass, sarod (an Indian guitar-like string instrument), tabla, alto sax and acoustic guitar unite in a sound that pulses with energy and life. The jaw-dropping virtuosity of the musicians sees Bhupinder's exhilarating, polyrhythmic tabla intertwining with the flamenco style guitar, ethereal sax (reminiscent of Jan Garbarek's Indian-inspired melodic playing), and the sarod's twang and slide come together in original pieces that leave one breathless. Superb." Brendan Campbell - Fuseleeds 09
