What we do

Take Art is a pioneering arts charity, serving the towns, villages and rural communities of Somerset. We do this by providing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to experience, participate and work within the arts.

rural touring

We play a vital role in keeping villages alive and vibrant through our hugely successful rural touring scheme, which works by offering memorable live arts experiences to thousands of people across Somerset.

early years

We provide opportunities for Somerset’s under fives and their families to take part in high quality arts experiences. Start works collaboratively locally, regionally and internationally to explore and enhance young children’s creativity and well-being.

With a focus on excellence, ambition and accessibility, Take Art Music is a brand new service, working with music partners, youth groups and schools across Somerset to deliver an exciting participatory programme of music for young people.

We believe that dance is for everyone and anyone can dance. As the county dance agency we support high quality performance and participation throughout Somerset.

We dream of a county where artists, practitioners and companies are inspired to make, produce and present extraordinary theatre for the people who live in and around Somerset.  Our job is to help make this happen.
