Katey joined Take Art in May 2008 at the beginning of the Step Change project and during which time has worked on the Children’s strand, the Young People's strand and the Adults' strand, leading on the Young People strand. Additional funding from Youth Dance England allowed Katey to develop an already well established Youth Dance provision for the county. This included the development of a county youth dance company and a youth dance advocacy group. Katey trained professionally at London Contemporary Dance School and has danced with Pretty Good Girl Dance Theatre since July 2005, performing in small projects, two national tours and performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2009. PGG is an educational dance company and Katey leads regularly on youth workshops alongside tours. She is also a freelance dance teacher throughout Somerset, teaching a range of dance styles including Street Dance, with a real passion for accessing hard to reach young people through dance.
