The Zest Project enabled two Somerset primary schools to work with professional artists, through a series of intensive workshop sessions.
Pupils at St Nicholas in Henstridge spent the morning in hands-on working with clay artist Rod Harris. In the afternoon, they worked with three dance artists, Anna Brown, Annabelle MacFadyen and Claire Hill, exploring some of the themes investigated in the morning’s clay session. Chard’s Manor Court school pupils worked tirelessly with Anna Brown and Claire Hill and film maker Richard Tomlinson to explore shadow, shapes and movement.
The work in both schools constantly developed and changed emphasis throughout as the children showed their response and appreciation during the sessions.
