Take Art: Live is a rural touring scheme bringing a wide range of high quality professional touring companies at an affordable rate to rural venues across Somerset by working together with a network of volunteer local promoters. |

Each Spring Take Art puts together a menu brochure with a choice of local, national and international performers offering a diverse range of shows - theatre, music, dance, puppetry, comedy, storytelling, film etc. |

This is mailed out to promoters who have registered their interest in the scheme. Promoters are generally people with an interest in the performing arts or with a strong sense of community who wish their local hall to host a memorable social event. The promoter (or promoting group) then chooses the show they would like to put on in their community. |

Take Art liaises with the company, juggles tour dates, sends out contracts, supplies the promoter with tickets, posters and fliers. The cost of the show is subsidised in order to make it affordable. |

In 2006/07 - 120 great shows are planned in 80 rural communities. Rural touring is going places...small places! |
