Since 1987 Take Art: Live, through the village performance
scheme, has brought high quality arts events to rural Somerset.
By working together with village volunteers Take Art: Live strengthens
the social fabric of communities through memorable experiences.
The events can play a vital role in keeping villages vibrant
and many communities make small profits whilst enjoying a good
night out. |

“Rural touring is about more than
just performances .. it plays an important part in the social
life of small communities … it involves people of all
ages and backgrounds … it can be a catalyst for community
development, because it always requires people to become active
partners..” |

A
Magical Mystery Tour of the Arts in Somerset
|
| |
The Great Somerset Arts Adventure is taking 30
lucky individuals to a series of arts events across the county
in 2007. With their destination unknown until their arrival,
these intrepid adventurers are really getting a taste of what
the arts have to offer in Somerset. The venues involved in the
GSAA project also remain undisclosed until their event, to add
to the mystery. |

|
| |
Take Art: Live took part in the project in February,
with the fantastic European Clowning show 'Plutot la Vie', at
Mark Village Hall. |
