Performance Tour
Spring 2007’s Alive and Kicking dance in education performance tour has been a huge success. Four dancers devised and performed the 20-minute piece in schools across South and West Somerset. Accompanied by a workshop and the opportunity for all participants to take part in the show. The tour worked with over 1500 young people aged 5 – 19.
“All pupils felt a sense of achievement. They really enjoyed the workshop and have already asked if it is going to happen again” (teacher from Swanmead School)
“They were inspired by watching the dancers. A very excellent performance. Thankyou” (teacher from Stanchester School)
“Very engaging and a good mix of creating own work and learning movements. Accessible to boys and girls.” (teacher from Minehead Middle School)
The show was aimed at 9-13 year olds and told the story of couch potatoes who are forced to become active after becoming embroiled in their own computer game, then learning to out-dance the machine.
The next performance tour is aimed at 2-5 year olds and is touring throughout to Early Years venues in Somerset during October 2007. Please contact rose@takeart.org if you are interested in hosting a show. |
