  Glastonbury Intergenerational Digital Arts Project

‘Having the time of our lives’ was the title of the Glastonbury Intergenerational Digital Arts Project that took place between 2003 and 2005.

It provided the opportunity for over 200 people to explore the creative potential of digital photography, video and new technology and was facilitated by Richard Tomlinson.

Children as young as 3 created wonderful illustrations of their school while members of the University of the Third Age created photomontages designed to challenge the stereotypes associated with older people.

Some artwork, such as the skateboarding images by the Youth Service group, has found a permanent exhibition space in the town.

The range of participating groups included:

  • St. John’s Infants’ School
  • St. Benedict’s School
  • St. Dunstan’s Community School
  • Glastonbury Detatched Youth Group
  • Glastonbury Mini Sure Start Group
  • The Mendip Centre
  • The University of the Third Age
  • Individual local film-makers
